Buenos Aires Canton, Costa Rica August, 2013 Spent a day birding in the savannas south of Chirripo National Park looking for the elusive ocellated crake, only one of our party of 5 saw it. but not a wasted day as the area is beautiful and there were many other splendid creatures, including this little spider spinning his web in the morning dew.

Quebradas, Costa Rica June 2013 This guy managed to get into the house last night with all the doors and windows closed, Bryan figures he squeezed in through the little gap at the bottom of the door. The good thing is he eats bugs, the bad thing is he left a doody in the living room..... yuck.

Quebradas, Costa Rica June 2013 Mornings in the kitchen are a surprise, the remains of the nights' bug carnage. Gecko poo, expired fruit gnats, etc. then there is this. This guy is from the Cicadellidae family, aka leaf hoppers. He's tiny, about 1cm long.

April 2013 Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico http://esterodelsalado.org/2011/english.html We did not get a chance to explore this reserve set up to educate locals rather than entertain tourists in the middle of Puerto Vallarta. But we did get to see this big fellow from the side walk just on the reserve border. He must have been 7 feet long.
