Copernicus Through the Panamá Canal

April 12th and 13th, 2014.

What a great way to spend a weekend. The transit of the Panama Canal is is about 45 nautical miles (52 miles). And to think there was time, if you wanted to get from the Pacific to the Atlantic, it was a much greater effort; south for about 4200nm to Cape Horn, NE for about 3500nm to the furthest eastern cape of Brazil, then 3400nm WNW to the Caribbean side of Panama.

Thanks to Laurent, Valerie, Ben and Dawn for letting me show your pictures with mine. You can see Laurent's vid on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r465NNQY1B4&feature=youtu.be
