Feria del Mar 2015

A week long celebration in Bocas del Toro, drawing in many Panamanians from throughout the country. Games, rides, 2 types of food: deep fried or sugary stuff, games; skill testing and of chance. Fun for whole family. These photos are from Saturday late afternoon to early evening. When we left about 8pm, there was a huge line up to get in.

Guna Lady
The Guna are an Indigenous group in Columbia and Panama (mostly in the North East, San Blas area). The Guna have resisted the take over of their culture by the Spanish and Panamanians. Their success has been attributed to their economy; agriculture, fishing and the manufacture of clothing, hand embroidered appliqué including international trade.
