Panamá Independence Fiestas 2015

November is loaded with special dates for Panamanians. Starting with the 3rd, Día de la Independencia from Columbia in 1903 with support from the United States who were interested in building and controlling the Canal. Then the 4th with Día de la Bandera (Flag Day). 5th is Conmemoración Patriótica en la ciudad de Colón (Colón Day); This day marks the day Colombian forces stationed in Colon were persuaded to allow Panama´s separation from Colombia. The 10th is Grito en la Villa de los Santos in recognition of the people of that city's uprising against Spain in 1821. The 16th gives us Fundacion de la Provincia de Bocas Del Toro; the founding of the province of Bocas Del Toroi n 1904. Wrapped up with November 28, which is the Independencia de España (independence from Spain) in 1821.
