Sea of Cortez Summer Fall 2012

After scoring an AC unit, gratis, we headed to the sea. We were told it would be hot there, but better than Mazatlán and more out of the way of hurricanes. Well, true..... But it was still very hot with thunder storms and wind.

    Isla Coronados August 2012 The island is an old volcano, lots of black rocks off the beach.
    Isla Coronados August 2012 We got a rain storm the first few days in this anchorage. Winds clocking from SE to an unnerving NW (lee shore and fetch) and back again several times and as high as 55kts. The rain was so heavy we could not see the peninsula which is only about 2 nm away. The lightening was all arond as close as 4 miles but mostly about 12 miles away. though scary a couple of good things, it cooled the air and we topped up our water tank as well as filled many large containers with sweet, soft rain water, delicious and refreshing.
